Job Summary
The Programs Officer will be responsible for planning, coordinating, implementing, and monitoring the RIO Foundation’s programs and projects. The role ensures that projects are delivered on time, within scope and budget, and in line with organizational goals, donor requirements, and community needs.
Key Responsibilities
- Lead the design, planning, and implementation of programs and projects.
- Develop project work plans, budgets, timelines, and activity schedules.
- Coordinate field activities and liaise with beneficiaries, partners, and community stakeholders.
- Monitor program performance using defined indicators and tools.
- Collect, analyze, and document program data and success stories.
- Prepare periodic narrative and financial reports for management and donors.
- Ensure compliance with donor guidelines, organizational policies, and regulatory requirements.
- Identify implementation risks and recommend mitigation strategies.
- Support proposal writing and concept note development when required.
- Organize trainings, workshops, and community outreach activities.
Qualifications & Experience
- Bachelor’s degree in Development Studies, Social Sciences, Project Management, Public Administration, or a related field.
- 2–5 years of experience in program or project coordination within an NGO or development organization.
- Strong project management and organizational skills.
- Experience with donor-funded projects is an advantage.
- Good written and verbal communication skills.
- Proficiency in Microsoft Office (Word, Excel, PowerPoint).
- Ability to work independently and in a team-oriented environment.

Job Title: Programs Intern
Location: Ebonyi state/remote
Reports to: Programs Officer
Employment Type: Internship
Duration: [3–12 months]
Job Summary
The Programs Intern will provide administrative and operational support to the Programs Team. This role is designed to offer hands-on experience in NGO program implementation, monitoring, reporting, and community engagement.
Key Responsibilities
- Assist in planning and implementing program activities.
- Support data collection, entry, and analysis for ongoing projects.
- Support with preparing reports, presentations, and program documentation.
- Assist in organizing trainings, workshops, and community events.
- Conduct basic research and compile background information for proposals.
- Support field visits and beneficiary engagement when required.
- Perform general administrative duties for the Programs Team.
- Maintain program files and records.
Qualifications & Experience
- Undergraduate or recent graduate in Development Studies, Social Sciences, Public Health, Education, or a related field.
- Strong interest in the non-profit / development sector.
- Good written and verbal communication skills.
- Basic proficiency in Microsoft Office (Word, Excel, PowerPoint).
- Willingness to learn and ability to work in a team.
- Strong organizational and time-management skills.
